I need more supports, so here’s B+ Support 🥹
Lon’qu: *Sigh*
“Avoid me all you want, but if our tactician pairs us together then you’re stuck with me!”
Lon’qu: … *sigh*
“This is our 50th mission together! We should celebrate!”
Lon’qu: “What’s there to celebrate…”
“To our survival!”
*sigh* you’re the one… with a death wish…
“Training during missions is the best kind of training. I’m not wishing to die.”
Lon’qu: “Yet… you go into battle when u’re not familiar with using the weapon…”
“I know you’ll protect me.”
“… …”
“…”
“I’m just kidding! I’m responsible for myself!”
“Plus, if I get roughed up a bit, I have concoctions and vulnerary. It’s totally fine!”
Lon’qu: “Couldn’t you just use your axe and staff…”
“ I want to try everything before I commit to a class.
Lon’qu: “I suppose…”
“Haha. You act like I’m a load of trouble.”
*sigh*
“Why don’t you try a new weapon…? Like a bow?”
“…Why?”
“Well… you can hit the target before I reach it therefore limiting the amount of ‘close calls’.”
Lon’qu: “So…for your benefit.”
“Not exactly my benefit. It’s beneficial to be versatile. Different enemies for different weapons after all.”
“We shall see.”
“Besides, I only use new weapons on easy missions.”
Lon’qu: “Yet…this is not a matter of a ‘new weapon.”
“Don’t you think this griffin is adorable? He’s so cute!!! Heard his name is Leviathan.” I give him pets. “Let’s pair up!”
Lon’qu: “…I can get the targets on the ground… while you get the ones in the sky.”
“Nice try, but it’s a scouting mission!”
“Can you even ride a griffin…?”
“Well I have some flying experience. They don’t let newbies ride griffins, so have some faith in me!”
*sigh* “And where do you expect me to hold on to…?”
Onto me! (You can wrap your arms around my waist…) *blush*
(I can’t believe I just thought that..)
! *Blush* “No…”
“I tease! I brought chains, we can tie it around each other waists and if you fall I’ll fall with you.”
Lon’qu: “More like…if you fall it’ll be sturdy enough and I can drag you back up.”
“You know me so well!”
“Well I’m all buckled up, so anytime you’re ready!”
Lon’qu: “Let’s get on with it.”
“Check out this view!! He’s really soaring out here!”
“…”
“Look Lon’qu there’s the tower!”
“…”
“Hey! Are you even looking?”
“D-Don’t turn around…! I can see the tower... clearly.”
“Ah!”
Screech~
(My back is leaning onto his chest…)
Lon’qu: “..!”
*Blush* “Sorry!! But I can’t push back on this wind…”
(I’m totally leaning into him…!!)
“Calm down boy! Slow down please!”
I take the reins and try to get him to calm down but it’s not working.
*happy bird screeches*
“I think.. he’s enjoying himself.” Still pressed into his chest, it’s all I could say. I rub the griffin’s feathers hoping that he would calm down. “Thank you for taking us on this is delightful flight but could we land?”
*more happy bird screeches* He flies in the center and then pummels straight down for a landing.
“Ahhhh!!!” I scream. And when I was about to fall I feel arms around my waist. “Huh…?”
*wings beat rapidly into a graceful landing*
*griffin satisfied nosies*
I feel a pat on my back. “You okay…?”
I gaze into his face and suddenly embarsssed. “Y-yes!! Yes I am!” I hop off the griffin but didn’t get too far because of the chain that connected us. *chain noises* I fumble with trying to unlock it. (Come on… open already…) My heart leaping from out of my chest from the fall I imagine. It couldn’t be anything else could it…?)
*unlocking nosies* I see his fingers unlocking the chain and then he takes the chain off my waist. I can feel my cheeks getting hotter. “T-thank you… again.” (What is wrong with me…?) I’m going to take a look around!!”
“Wait.” He grabs my arm while I walk away.
(He’s touching me now…?!) “W-what is it…?”
Lon’qu: “We aren’t alone.” His tone serious. ”I’ll scout the ground, you should go back in scouting the air.”
“Alright. I’ll watch your back.” I mount my griffin and before I was able to fly into the sky… *clamp* the chains are back on my waist but instead of being connected to him he connects it to the rein of my griffin.
Lon’qu: “Just in case.” And just like that he walks away. (Again… the hammering in my chest…)
“Be safe…” I whispered into the air as I took flight. “Let’s go boy!”
Up in the air, I take a look. (Terrain… more terrain… this is practically a wasteland.) “I’m not seeing anything.”
I spot Lon’qu in the distance. (So, far nothing…)
*Swish!*
“Was that an arrow?!”
*Clank!* An arrow hit my axe, I was holding.
“Leviathan!! Fly higher, don’t get hit! We also need to get closer to Lon’qu to support him!”
*screeches*
“Avoid the archers, stay out of their sight!”
As we get closer to Lon’qu, I try to fend out the arrows coming our way with my axe.
(I should have practiced hitting down arrows more…!) I scold myself.
Swish! It flew by my hair.
“…That was a close one!”
We are getting closer. “We can land!” I watch Lon’qu cut down the commander Risen.
I scan the area and I don’t see anything else. “That should be the last of it…?”
“Watch out!!!”
“Huh…?” By the time I register what was happening, an arrow struck the side of my side.
Excruciating pain and I hold my side on an instinct… blood, leaking and the arrow stuck there. My heart is pounding erratically. I black out…
POV shifts to Lon’qu.
He takes out the archer in one critical, “Be silent."
He looks up at the sky and sees Laura’s body falling over, but held in place because of the chains.
“Reckless… fool…” he says though his face is paler and stricken with worry. He runs towards the griffon landing in front of him.
*griffin screeches*
He does a quick glance over, sees the blood, sees the arrow…, closed eyes, she’s slumped over. “…not again…” terror seizes him temporary, but he snaps himself out of it and checks for a pulse.
“Still breathing…” He breathes for a temporary relief. (For now.) He winces at his thoughts. He gets on the griffin, “Back to the camp.”
The griffin takes flight and goes home. On the flight, he cuts a part of his clothes and tries to lessen the blood loss by tying the cloth around the wound and arrow. Laura stirs, but still unconscious. “Laura… if you die out here... I'll kill you." Despite his words, he holds her close, supporting her as much as he can.
They make it quickly back to town and he brings her to a healer. He stays put until they say she’s okay. And then he leaves.
